33 Age Gap romance Books you need to read

Table of Contents

Different types of age gap romance books

Age gap romance books are full of subcategories.

The most important and popular ones are:

Taboo age gap romance books:

These are books that feature an age gap and a socially unacceptable relationship.

Some examples of taboo relationships could include:

  • The female lead is in love with her father’s best friend
  • The male protagonist is her brother-in-law.
  • The female lead is in love with his father ex boyfriend.

Forbidden age gap romances books:

Forbidden romances refer to relationships that are strictly prohibited by law or authorities.

Taboo romances can be forbidden romances, but there are forbidden romances that are not taboo (just prohibited by law).

Some examples include:

  • Student-teacher relationships
  • Coach-player relationships ( not taboo, but still forbidden )
  • Stepdaughter- stepfather relationships ( taboo and forbidden )

Single dad age gap romance books:

This is a popular self-explanatory category. These are stories featuring a single dad (often in his early 30s or 40s) and a female protagonist who is usually much younger.

Reverse age gap romance books:

Here, instead of the male being older, we have the female protagonist as an older character. They’re not as popular as traditional age-gap romance books, but they have their niche.

AGE GAP ROMANCE BOOK SPREADSHEET

My top picks: Favorite age gap romance books

These are my favorite age gap romance books, the ones I can read over and over without getting bored. They’re packed with tension, steamy scenes, and a lot of taboo elements.

Ā

I just love it when an age gap romance book focuses on the internal conflict the characters go through because of the nature of their relationship.

Ā

When the author puts the focus on that aspect, the story truly shines.

Ā

Of course, these age gap romance books have a HEA (happily ever after), and they’re an absolute must-read šŸ˜.

.

BIG age gap. He is a priest and teacher. Soft BDSM

As Father Magnus Falke, I suppress my cravings. As the headteacher of a Catholic boarding school, Iā€™m never tempted by a student. Until her…

I became a priest to control my impulses.

Then I meet Tinsley Constantine.

The bratty princess challenges my rules and awakens my dark nature. With each punishment I lash upon her, I want more. In my classroom, private rectory, and bent over my altar, I want all of her. Thereā€™s no absolution for the things Iā€™ve done.

One touch risks everything I stand for. My faith. My redemption. And even my life.

As if that could stop me. I need her pain, and her heart, and she needs my lessons in sin.

ā€œPam once again blends sensuality with sin and delivers a scorching hot romance. I feel like I sinned with every page! 5 delicious, devious stars!ā€ – Pepper Winters, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author

“Okay, so he loved Jesus and worked out. Not a crazy notion.”

Ā

“He was forty. Older than I thought. But young enough to be her child.”

Why you should read it

This age gap romance book has it ALL: a forbidden student-teacher relationship, a BIG age gap (22 years!! He is 40), and a taboo relationship (he is A PRIEST).

Ā

Moreover, he is into some kinky stuff that will make you šŸ˜±.

Ā

Can any age gap romance book get any better? Pam Godwin excels herself with this book, a must-read if you are looking for a good age gap romance book with taboo elements.

Forbidden student teacher romance with spice and kinks

Are you ready to watch?

I was…untilĀ her.

For the first time in my life, it wasn’t enough. I needed more. I needed the physical connection I swore I’d never want.

It was supposed to be simple. Approach. Talk. Touch.

Except it was anything but simple because the woman I watched perform my deepest fantasies turned out to also be my student.

“An eighteen-year-old student. Oh, my god. Iā€™ve had sex with not only a teenage boy but one of my students. So yeah, my first day isnā€™t going so great after all.”

Ā

ā€œIā€™m a man, and I was a man when I was railing you hard. Thatā€™s the only time you get to call me a boy, Delaney.ā€

Why you should read it

This book was a great surprise. I went into it knowing nothing and it became one of my favorite age gap romance books almost instantly.

Ā

Callum, the male protagonist, has some kind of trauma and is only into certain activities. He goes to an exclusive club where they’re into this kind of thing. There, she meets the female main character, Oakley, who works there in order to pay for her college.

Ā

Later on, he discovers that she is his student...

Ā

I loved this one because for a big part of the book, Oakley doesn’t know that HE KNOWS what she does. The taboo element was so GOOD, and the internal conflict Callum goes through was chef’s kiss.

Ā

Told you, I just love it when an age gap romance book successfully portrays the tortured soul of the male protagonist who is dying to be near the female but just can’t because of the taboo element.

Stepdaughter - stepfather taboo age gap spicy romance. with a possessive alpha hero

It only takes one moment to change the course of someoneā€™s life.
One moment to link two souls forever.

That moment came when I pulled her out of her darkest hour.
The tragedy that threatened to swallow her whole and shatter her innocence.

Save her.
Protect her.
Love her.
I vowed.

Ten years later, my vows are the same.

But Iā€™m different
Sheā€™s different
Weā€™re different.

And the feelings threatening to break free have the power to destroy everything.

Iā€™ll stop at nothing to keep her safe, but what if the very thing she needs protection from
…is me?

ā€œIā€™m not sure how I ended up in this position, me straddling the man that had raised me since I was seven years old, but I knew I had no intentions of getting up until I rubbed against him just once.ā€

Ā

ā€œSo, Maddie knew the deal about dating and boys. Everyone had to be cleared through me and preferably while I was holding my gun.ā€

Why you should read it

My favorite age gap romance book from Q. B. Tyler. This book is so WRONG, so taboo… I loved it!!

Ā

Cal is a cop who rescued Maddie and adopted her when she was 7 years old.

Ā

But Maddie is all grown up now (almost 18) and she starts having feelings for him.

Ā

As always from Q. B. Tyler, her male protagonists are possessive cavemen that make you forget about feminism xD. And Cal is her best representation.

He is everything you look for in an alpha hero, plus the age gap, plus the super taboo nature of the relationship.

Ā

Check out the other age gap romance books from this author on this list, because she is the queen ofĀ  age gap romances!!

Reverse age gap forbidden spicy romance between a high school student and her teacher

He was eighteen.
The heir to a notorious, criminal MC.
And my student.

There was no way I could get involved.
No way I could stay involved.
Then, no way I could get out alive.

ā€œDidnā€™t seem fair the next time I saw you, you were my goddamn teacher. I knew if I just had a chance to get to you, youā€™d be mine. Knew it then and know it now even more. Youā€™re mine, Cress.ā€

Ā

“No, King Kyle Garro may have been my student, but there was no doubt in my mind that he was a man.”

Why you should read it

One of my favorite reverse age gap romance books (she is older than him).

Ā

This is a student-teacher age gap romance book. He is in high school, is her student, and is the heir of an important motorcycle gang.

Ā

Cress, the heroine, is SO conflicted about having feelings for her student, and King Kyle Garro just doesn’t give a sh*t about her conflicted feelings šŸ¤. He’s decided she is his, and so be it.

Ā

The tension and angst between these two… perfection.

Of course, this book is full of steamy scenes and possessive alpha men. Totally recommended for student-teacher age gap romance book fans.

Forbidden age gap coach-player romance. Slow burn with spice

ā€œTrust me, Iā€™ve wanted to punch you in the face a time or five.ā€

When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, itā€™s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to.

It didnā€™t take a week for twenty-seven-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what sheā€™d seen in the international soccer iconā€”why sheā€™d ever had his posters on her wall, or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies.

Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man that hadnā€™t known sheā€™d existed. So she isnā€™t prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her teamā€™s season: a quiet, reclusive shadow of the explosive, passionate man heā€™d once been.

Nothing could have prepared her for the man she got to know.

Or the murderous urges he brought out in her.

This was going to be the longest season of her life.

“His confidence was blinding. Clean-shaven for once, the sharp bones of his jaw and cheeks that made his profile so masculine were on all-out display. A few more lines creased out from the corners of his hazel-green eyes than had been there before. I forgot he was turning forty this year.”

Ā

ā€œIā€™m not doing this with you, little girl,ā€

Why you should read it

A total classic. This slow-burn romance features a BIG age gap difference and a forbidden element that brings tension to the relationship.

Ā

Kulti is a former European football player who is now coaching a female football team, where our heroine Sal Casillas is the team star.

Ā

Maria Zapata’s books are always slow burns, so don’t expect any steamy scenes until the end of the book. Satisfying HEA (happily ever after) and the grumpy-sunshine trope. What else can a girl ask for?

Possessive and totally pischo alpha hero. Big age gap and daddy kink

The first time I met Dmitry Petrov, he was making a deal for my sisterā€™s hand in marriage with his brother.

I should have hated him for that alone, but when he stopped my father from hitting me, my young heart felt something new and wonderful for the first time.

It was this incurable sensation that consumed me at his protection.

But he was nearly fifteen years older than me, more dangerous than any man Iā€™d ever met, and only saw me as his sister-in-lawā€™s younger sibling.

And when he was arrested and thrown into jail, five long years passed. I refused to give up the notion that one day heā€™d see me as a womanā€”a woman he wanted. So I wrote to him daily, confided in him, told him about what was going on in my life, what I hated and loved. I did this all in the hopes heā€™d write back, wishing heā€™d want me the way I wanted him.

But year after year passed with no response. Until that changed. Until he wrote back. Dmitry was cruel and harsh, saying things that should have made me cry. Not make me want him more.

I knew I was playing with fire, sending a criminal pictures of myself after my eighteenth birthday, thinking about him as I did private things alone in my room. But he was a virus deep inside of me, and there was no cure for what I had.

And then my life completely changed when my brother tried to marry me off. I refused to be a pawn in the mafia world, and so my only option was to leave the only home Iā€™d ever known.

But when Dmitryā€™s released from prison, I came face-to-face with the Russian mafia leader everyone fears. And he made one thing very clear.

Iā€™m his. Heā€™s taking me. And anyone who tries to stop him will die.

“For five fucking years, you wrote me. I had zero interest in you for those first three and saw you as nothing more than Amaraā€™s kid sisterā€

Ā

ā€œDoes calling myself Daddyā€”calling you my good girlā€”make your tight *** wet right now?ā€

Why you should read it

One of my favorite books from Jenika Snow. This book features a big age gap story with forbidden and taboo elements.

Ā

It’s a mafia romance, so expect some very serious alpha male vibes with daddy kink and a bit of breeding kink as well.

Ā

Dmitry Petrov is her brother-in-law, now in prison, and our heroine has had a crush on him since she was 15. She sent letters to him while he was in prison, and one day, he gets out… and of course, he goes to claim what’s his šŸ˜

Ā

Not for the faint of heart, but very good nonetheless.

27 Best Age gap romance books you must read

Grumpy sunshine single dad age gap romance. Slow burn with spice

Aurora De La Torre, or Ora to her friends, knows moving back to Pagosa Springs, Colorado, a place that was once home and is now full of bittersweet memories of her late mother, isnā€™t going to be easy. Starting your whole life over probably isnā€™t supposed to be.

But after breaking up with her longtime, famous musician boyfriend, hiding out in a small town in the mountains might be the perfect remedy for a broken heart. And checking out her landlord who lives across the driveway just might cure it, too.

Only Tobias Rhodes didnā€™t rent out the apartment to her, rather it was his teenage son, Amos. Fiercely protective of his family and distrusting of strangers, gruff and grumpy Rhodes initially keeps little miss sunshine Ora at a distance. But over days and weeks, long hikes and fireside chats, Aurora breaks down his walls and soon an unbreakable friendship blossoms into a once-in-a-lifetime love.

ā€œI donā€™t know how anybody would let you walk away, and it isnā€™t going to be me. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Are we clear?ā€

Ā

ā€œIā€™m fine not being the first man sheā€™s ever loved because I know Iā€™m going to be the last.ā€

Ā

Maria Zapata loves to write age gap romance books, and this is one of them.

Ā

A delightful grumpy-sunshine slow-burn romance, you won’t be able to stop reading it.

Ā

For me, this book is way better than her most well-known “The Wall of Winnipeg and Me,” but of course, it’s clearly a matter of preferences.

Ā

As always, remember that with Mariana Zapata, nothing goes fast. The slow burn is real, but always with a satisfying HEA and steamy scenes at the end.

Big age gap slow burn romance.Grumpy sunshine

The problem with secrets is that theyā€™re too easy to keep collecting.

Luna Allen has done some things she would rather no one ever know about. She also knows that, if she could go back in time, she wouldnā€™t change a single thing.

With three sisters she loves, a job she (mostly) adores, and a family built up of friends sheā€™s made over the years, Luna figures everything has worked out the way it was supposed to.

But when one of those secrets involves the man who signs her paycheck, she canā€™t find it in her to regret it. Despite the fact that heā€™s not the friendliest man in the world. Or the most patient.

Sometimes there are things youā€™re better off keeping to yourself.

ā€œYou gave me these pieces of you I know you havenā€™t given to anybody else, and theyā€™re mine. You canā€™t take ā€™em back. I need them more than you do, you hear me?ā€

Ā

ā€œYou want to meet someone to be your best friend and your fucking partner? Iā€™m right fucking here, baby girl.ā€

Another age gap romance book from Mariana Zapata. This one is about Luna, a girl who works at a car repair shop. There, she meets her new boss Rip, who happens to be a 41-year-old grumpy man very difficult to please.

Ā

I’m sure you know where this goes hehe.

Ā

With 628 pages (standard size for Mariana Zapata’s big fat books, šŸ˜‚), you can expect a BIG slow burn with all kinds of situations where Luna and Rip come and go. The age gap difference plays a role in the story, balancing the dynamics between the two (she calls him boss even outside the shop).

If you love slow-burn romance and age gap books, you can’t go wrong with this author.

Ex boyfriend's dad. Big age gap

He calls me perfect.

His flawless pet.

HisĀ good girl.

Then, I stumbled into a new job with a boss who brings me to my kneesā€”literally. He has me do things a real secretary would never do.

Emerson Grant tells me Iā€™m more than just good enough.

Iā€™m worthy of his praise.

There are a million reasons why I should stay away. The owner of the Salacious Playersā€™ Club is not just my new boss, heā€™s twice my age.

And my ex-boyfriendā€™s father.

With him, I am treasured. I am adored. I amĀ his.

Iā€™m a good girl, but Iā€™m falling for the wrong man.

Emerson Grant knows what he wantsā€”

And he wants me.

So how far will I go to hear his approval?

ā€œRULE #6: AVOID MALLS FOR THE RISK OF RUNNING INTO YOUR EX WHILE HOLDING BAGS OF LINGERIE YOU FANTASIZE WEARING FOR HIS DAD.ā€

Ā

ā€œBecause you are mine, Charlotte. And I donā€™t appreciate when anyone talks badly about something that is mine. Do you think I have bad taste?ā€

This is a very fun read with some soft BDSM and a sub/dom dynamic. It’s a very good book for beginners in this subgenre.

Ā

He is the owner of a sex club and mistakes his son’s ex-girlfriend for his secretary. When he realizes his mistake, it’s way too late, and our heroine is already emotionally invested despite the age gap difference and the fact that he is his ex-boyfriend’s dad.

Forbidden steamy student teacher age gap romance

Some things are forbidden. Some things are necessary for survival.Their love is both.

ā€œIā€™m a selfish bastard, Dandelion Meadows, and I want every fucking part of you..ā€

ā€œI have a crush on my school counselor. If that doesnā€™t say trouble I donā€™t know what does.ā€

A classic student-teacher age gap romance book but done WELL.

Ā

This book has everything. It’s long but it never feels boring.

Ā

The forbidden aspect plays a big role in the story, and Lachlan, our male protagonist (I LOVE his name! ), is the one conflicted about the relationship.

Ā

It’s so cute seeing him struggling and trying not to surrender to temptation… poor little thing, haha.

I loved Dandelion; she was fierce and brave… and she clearly knew what she wanted.

She is his "little girl" Both need therapy. 10 years age gap romance

Fornication is a sin.

As it reads, we should flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.

They teach us that these thoughts, these actions, are immoral. But that dark side that lives inside all of us, the true nature of man, drives us to seek the need that burns within, demanding to be set free. Deep inside of our bones lies that intrinsic need, one desperate to escape. An innate behavior, seemingly out of our control.

One that screams for sins they tell us are condemning.

Aero is the throat from which I scream.

The dark parts of myself I want hidden from this world are all he sees when he gazes at me beneath yet another mask.

Heā€™s the demon drowning me in my own underlying desires.

He may never stop. Not until I succumb to my truths, or die beneath the weight of his unrelenting grasp.

Because according to him, the life Iā€™ve been living is a hell far worse than death.

ā€œRecognize Briony, that Iā€™m the air to your fire. All you need to do is fan the flame.ā€

Ā

ā€œSheā€™s my obsession, but more so, sheā€™s my fucking existence. The only point of destruction I crave.ā€

If you are in the mood for a good dark romance with an age gap, you may want to try this one.

Ā

Although the age gap isn’t big, Aero (the MMC) reminds us of it in a lot of passages… because of course, she is his ‘little girl.’

Ā

If you fancy some red walking flags ( maybe this comes close to being a MOLTEN flag but whatever xD ), pick up this book. Aero is in desperate need of some good therapy sessions, but hey, I’m colourblind when it comes to fictional characters.

After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter whoā€™s ten years younger than her and as casual as they comeā€”the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable.

While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesnā€™t need glory or fame. Sheā€™s fine with being a ā€œmereā€ ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, sheā€™s discovering just whatā€™s really important. Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people.

Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she canā€™t just give up the joy sheā€™s found with him either. With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?

ā€œI’m not an asshole. It’s my favorite thing about myself.ā€

ā€œAli, never underestimate what a man will do for five percent better sensation.ā€

This age gap romance book is an opposites attract kind of romance.

Ā

The age gap is important for the overall story, helping to show the different worlds they live in (he is a small-town carpenter, and she is a big-city girl).

Ā

Overall, a very cute chick-lit romance you need to read if you love reverse age-gap romance books.

Abbie Keller thought that Richard Bartholemew Benson the Third would be her forever. In their four years of dating, she never doubted that she wouldnā€™t end up with his grandmotherā€™s engagement ring on her finger. Sure, she had to change a few things about herself to fit that mold, like dying her hair, dressing more conservatively, and finding golf enjoyable (honestly the most difficult of the changes), but she was sure that at the end of it all, it would be worth it.

That is, until he leaves her crying outside her apartment wearing a Halloween costume, having broken it off with her because sheā€™sĀ just not serious enough.Ā She was just fun, he tells her – and now that Richard has becoming a partner at his law firm in his sights, he needs to focus on work.

So she does what every girl does when sheā€™s broken up with: she calls her friends, gets drunk, dyes her hair, and formulates her plan for revenge. It just so happens that the universe supports her efforts and gives her the perfect match to prove to her ex that he made a huge mistake: his boss.

Abbie starts dating the founding partner of Richardā€™s law firm, Damien Martinez, with one thing in mind: convincing him to invite her to the huge annual Christmas party as his date.

But when the relationship starts to become something more than casual dating and Abbie sees that the tough New York lawyer has a soft side, will she be able to follow through with her plan of deceit?

ā€œDamien cocks his arm back and, with his unencumbered, fully sober strength, hits Richard square in the jaw.ā€

Ā

ā€œRubia, weā€™re going away for a holiday. Iā€™m not working on Thanksgiving. I donā€™t work on holidays.ā€ Thereā€™s a pause, and then he corrects himself. ā€œAnd I sure as hell donā€™t work when Iā€™m with you.ā€

Are you craving a good Christmas feel-good rom-com? Then you definitely should check this out!

Ā

This book is fast-paced, steamy, and features a lovely Latino love interest who is wealthy, with a 14-year age difference. He even calls her ‘RUBIA,’ which means ‘blonde’ in English! OMG dies

Ā

For me, this is THE holiday age gap romance par excellence.

Hilarious and spicy single dad rom-com with a relatable heroine

So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard Iā€™ve ever come across.

Letā€™s be honest here, wouldnā€™t you wanna take a peek over the wall to catch a glimpse of him, hopefully when he is naked? Wouldnā€™t you melt away after watching him work out as his five-year-old kid cheered him on? Do I even have to mention those abs, or those arm muscles? Oh, wait, you would never spy on him? Sureā€¦

While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulderā€”or maybe a boob or twoā€”to cry on (yā€™know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people! He was supposed to grant me countless orgasms as a thank you, not a jail cell.

After that day, I was mentally plotting ways to strangle him instead of jumping his bones to make sweet love. So what if my body did more than just shiver when he whispered dirty little things in my ear? I canā€™t be held responsible for that. And when was the last time heā€™d kissed anyone anyway? Whoā€™d enjoy a kiss with a side of heart attack?

Even if he and his son were the best things since sliced breadā€”and Iā€™m not saying he wasā€”I couldnā€™t fall for him. No matter what promises he whispered on my skin, my curse wouldnā€™t let us be. I wasnā€™t a damsel in distressā€”I could save myself, thank you very muchā€”but deep inside, I still hoped Adam Connor would be the hero of my story.

ā€œShe was our Lucy, Aiden’s and mine.ā€

ā€œIf you donā€™t stay here tonight, Lucy, Iā€™m breaking into Jasonā€™s house,ā€

To Hate Adam Connor features one of my favorite rom-com heroines. Lucy is just HILARIOUS.

Ā

I loved Adam Connor as well; he is a single dad superstar going through a complicated divorce.

Ā

These two were so fun together. He was grumpiness in person, and Lucy is just one of the funniest characters I’ve ever read in a rom-com.

Totally recommended for readers looking for a cute rom-com age gap romance book.

Enemies to lovers opposites attract spicy rom-com age gap romance.

Bethany wants bragging rights, but she needs a crew and the only member of her brother’s construction team willing to jump ship is Wes Daniels, the new guy in town. His Texas drawl and handsome face got under Bethany’s skin on day one, and the last thing she needs is some cocky young cowboy in her way.

It’s a labor of love, hate, and everything in between, and soon sparks are flying. But Bethany’s perfectly structured life is one kiss away from going up in smoke and she knows falling for a guy like Wes would be aĀ flippingĀ disaster.

ā€œEveryone had weaknesses. They just came in different sizes and shapes.ā€

Why you should read it

This is the third installment in the ‘Hot & Hammered’ series and the final one.

Ā

We already met Wes and Bethany in the second book, and this is their story.

Ā

There is a 10-year age gap difference between these two.

Ā

As in any Tessa Bailey book, you will get your dose of dirty talk and possessive alpha men.

This is an enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity book, and the cover may make you think it’s a cute and fluffy book… But NO, as with any title by this author, you can expect a lot of steamy scenes

Gothic romance with Jane Austen vibes. He meets her when she was a baby

Orphaned as a baby, nineteen-year-old Signa has been raised by a string of guardians, each one more interested in her wealth than her well-beingā€”and each has met an untimely end. Her remaining relatives are the elusive Hawthornes, an eccentric family living at Thorn Grove, an estate both glittering and gloomy. Its patriarch mourns his late wife through wild parties, while his son grapples for control of the familyā€™s waning reputation, and his daughter suffers from a mysterious illness. But when their motherā€™s restless spirit appears claiming she was poisoned, Signa realizes that the family she depends on could be in grave danger and enlists the help of a surly stable boy to hunt down the killer.
Ā
However, Signaā€™s best chance of uncovering the murderer is an alliance with Death himself, a fascinating, dangerous shadow who has never been far from her side. Though heā€™s made her life a living hell, Death shows Signa that their growing connection may be more powerfulā€”and more irresistibleā€”than she ever dared imagine.

ā€œHello, Little Bird. Come to stab me again?ā€

Ā

ā€œWith him, Signa no longer wanted to wonder. She wanted to know. Death dipped his head low, words brushing against her ear. ā€œI have waited for you for a very long time, Signa Farrow.ā€

Why you should read it

Age gaps in fantasy romance books are not as common as in contemporary romances, but there are some good ones out there.

Ā

‘Belladonna’ is a gothic romance where the male love interest is Death himself.

Ā

He met her when she was only a baby, feeling curious about her and sparing her life.

Ā

From that time on, he becomes her companion, in a way protecting her and clearly being obsessed with her ability to not be able to die.

The age gap doesn’t play a BIG role, but you can tell the author puts a strong emphasis on the different power levels of both characters. He is as old as time, and she is just his ‘Little bird’ (like he likes to call her).

Mentor -student age gap romance with mild spice, tension and excelent worldbuilding

ā€œMen want power because it makes them feel good. Women want power because it lets us do things.ā€

Why you should read it

If you’re in the mood for a good fantasy book with romance, definitely pick this one. Carissa Broadbent is a well-established author, and this series is one of her most popular ones.

Ā

The world building in this one is top-notch, and although it has a romance plot, there is a whole story behind it.

Ā

The romance plot features a classic mentor-student relationship (14 years age gap). Forbidden, of course. It’s a slow-burn romance with tension and high stakes that will make you want to grab the second book as soon as you finish this one.

This is a complete series.

Forbidden Mentor student age gap romance with vampires tension and dark academia vibes

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth’s magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires–the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa’s best friend, makes her a Dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.

After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimirā€™s Academy, where vampire royalty and their guardians-to-be prepare for a life fraught with danger. Rose and Lissa must navigate their treacherous world and never once let their guard down, lest the evil undead make Lissa one of them forever. But soon Rose finds herself gripped by temptation of forbidden love, leaving Lissa exposed to Strigoi attack. Now she must choose between the best friend she lives for, and the man she can’t live withoutā€¦.

ā€œDo you think I’m pretty?
I think you’re beautiful
Beautiful?
You are so beautiful, it hurts sometimes.ā€

Ā

ā€œRose. Roza. Open your eyes.” I’ve never heard heard his voice so strained, so frantic. “Don’t go to sleep on me. Not yet.ā€

Why you should read it

If you’re looking for a forbidden age gap student-teacher romance ( with vampires!! ), look no further.

Ā

Rose and Dimitri have a mentor-student relationship, and you can feel the tension through the pages .

This is a YA book, but the romance is done so well. It’s not a full romance plot; it has a lot of action and politics, but the relationship between Rose and Dimitri takes a central part of the story

Bully romance with faes( student-teacher ) in a Hogwarts style setting ( but make it spicy )

Iā€™m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, Iā€™m Fae.

Ā

But of course thereā€™s a catch – all I have to do to claim my birth right is prove that Iā€™m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically thatā€™s true as Iā€™m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didnā€™t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

Ā

The school theyā€™ve sent me to is both dangerous as sh*t and one helluva party. Vampires bite weaker students in the corridors, the Werewolf pack has orgies in the Wailing Wood at every full moon and donā€™t even get me started on the dark and twisted ways the Sirens use their powers on peopleā€™s emotions, or how my sinfully tempting Cardinal Magic teacher hosts detentions that leave people needing therapy.

Ā

Classes are totally interesting if you manage to live through them. And that Gemini star sign I mentioned? It now determines my elemental magic and affects my destiny, so learning astrology is essential if Iā€™m going to beat down my classmates ā€“ which is actively encouraged by the way.

Ā

My biggest problem is the drool worthy Dragon shifter who has his eyes on my throne. He and his three psycho friends are determined to make my time here hell.

Ā

All Iā€™ve got to do is survive. But fate might have other ideas.

Ā

Dammit, why couldnā€™t I have gotten a letter to Hogwarts?

ā€œThis is no joke. You know you can’t date teachers right? Them’s the rules. And I’d appreciate if you didn’t mouth-hump his name in front of me.ā€

Ā

ā€œOne day, Professor, I’m going to be strong enough to fight you off.ā€ He took a measured breath and I felt like he was sucking something vital out of my body that I wasnā€™t sure Iā€™d ever get back. ā€œI know,ā€ he said, his eyes glittering. ā€œBut until that day, you’re mine, Blue.ā€

Why you should read it

I’m not a big fan of this series… but oh boy, Lance and Darcy ( or “Blue” his nickname for her …)Ā  they have a student-teacher relationship with an age gap, and Professor Orion is just… the hottest guy in the series.

Ā

I forced myself to continue this series just for them… because their relationship is šŸ”„šŸ”„.

He is possessive, and mean with her, but has this soft side… I don’t know, but it made me remember Professor Snape (am I crazy?).

Anyway, you need to read this series just for these two, trust me.

Touch her and you die age gap mafia romance. Badass heroine

She fears the dark.He rules it.Her dresses are too tight, her heels too tall. She laughs too loudly, eats without decorum, and mixes up most sayings in the book. Little do most know itā€™s just a sparkly disguise, there to hide one panic attack at a time.Nobody can crack Giannaā€™s facade . . . no one anyway, until he comes along. Most see a paragon of morality; a special agent upholding the law. In the New York underworld, others know him as a hustler, a killer, his nature as cold as the heart of ice in his chest. Christian Allister has always followed the life plan heā€™d envisioned in his youth, beneath the harsh lights of a frigid, damp cell. With a proclivity for order and the number three, heā€™s never been tempted to veer off course. But perhaps one should never say never . . .One winter night and their lives intertwine. She hates himā€”his stone-cold demeanor, his arrogance and too-perceptive eyeā€”but over the years, even as their games consist of insulting each otherā€™s looks and intelligence, she begins to live to play with him.Nowhere in Christianā€™s plans had he ever prepared for Gianna. Sheā€™s chaos embodied, not his type, and married, but none of that can stop his eyes from following her wherever she goes. All along, she doesnā€™t even know that sheā€™s hisā€”his frustration, his fascination. His maddest obsession.*Can be read as a standalone

ā€œHow are you going to explain why youā€™re with me?ā€ Youā€™re mine. And I go where you go.ā€

Ā

ā€œYou blushed for him,ā€ he growled. ā€œYou really shouldnā€™t have done that, Gianna. You have no idea what youā€™ve just unleashed.ā€

Why you should read it

If you are looking for an age gap mafia romance with a badass heroine, this book is for you.

Ā

But there is more… if you love obsessed and possessive men, Christian Allister is at the top of the list.

Ā

He goes to therapy because he acknowledged his obsession with her and wears Gianna’s hair tie for THREE YEARS.

That’s some obsessive alpha behaviour if you ask me! Heheh.

Obssesive possesive billonaire alpha male age gap romance ( he seems older than he is in reality )

Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he canā€™t escape.

Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.

But when heā€™s forced to look after his best friendā€™s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest:

A crack.
A melt.
A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

***

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she canā€™t remember.

But despite her broken past, sheā€™s never stopped seeing the beauty in the worldā€¦including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldnā€™t want.

Her brotherā€™s best friend.
Her neighbor.
Her savior and her downfall.

Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happenā€”but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them bothā€¦and everything they hold dear.

Twisted Love is a contemporary brotherā€™s best friend/grumpy sunshine romance. It’s book one in the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone.

ā€œIf you wanted, I would burn down the world for you.ā€

Ā

ā€œI’d rather be the villain with her by my side than the hero who risked losing her because of a misguided sense of morality.”

Although the age gap is not as big, the author achieves the age gap feeling with Alex Volkov’s behavior.

He is possessive, a complete stalker, and has some serious mental problems.

He is clearly obsessed with Ava and doesn’t mind going to the extreme of hurting other men who go near her.

If you are into possessive alpha males, give this book a try šŸ™‚

Daddy red flag with psicho tendencies and big age gap. Aiden's father

Jonathan King is every bit his last name.
Powerful. Untouchable. Corrupted.
Heā€™s also my dead sisterā€™s husband and way older than me.
When I first met him as a clueless child, I thought he was a god.
Now, I have to confront that god to protect my business from his ruthless grip.
Little did I know that declaring a war on the king will cost me everything.
When Jonathan covets something, he doesnā€™t only win, he conquers.
Now, he has his sights on me.
He wants to consume not only my body, but also my heart and my soul.
I fight, but thereā€™s no escaping the king in his kingdom…

ā€œAurora or Clarissa or whatever name she goes with is now fucking mine.
Literally.
Figuratively.
In every sense of the word.ā€

Ā

Why you should read it

OMG, what can I say about this duet…

First, this book’s protagonist is Jonathan motherf**ing King, the infamous badass father of Aiden from the Royal Elite series...

If you love Aiden, you NEED to read this book.

If you thought that Aiden was a psychopath… wait to meet his daddy…

And to make things better, this book has a BIG age gap romance in it, with all the elements from a Rina Kent book: dubious consent, dark romance, possessiveness… and the list goes on.

Dual Pov age gap stepbrother - stepsister spicy af taboo romance

Wrong. Sinful. Taboo.Ā I know I shouldnā€™t want him.

I know I shouldnā€™t touch myself in the middle of the night as thoughts of him run through my mind.

Thoughts of his kiss, his touch, his love.

Iā€™d spent years obsessing over the man I thought I couldnā€™t have.

But as it turns out, he wants me too.

And he wants meĀ now.

“Gabrielle is your baby sister. Too young for you. Fuck her age, sheā€™s tooā€¦related to you.”

Ā

“Between lusting after her and feeling guilty for lusting after her, she takes up a lot of my thoughts.”

Why you should read it

The taboo romance queen does it again.

Ā

This time she delivers one of the best stepbrother-stepsister age gap romance books I’ve ever read.

This is a dual POV, so you get all the feelings from both protagonists and the wrongness of the situation they’re in from both perspectives.

Ā

Clutch your pearls because this one is very spicy!!

Slow-burn age gap father's best friend with moderate spice

JORDANHe took me in when I had nowhere else to go.He doesnā€™t use me, hurt me, or forget about me. He doesnā€™t treat me like Iā€™m nothing, take me for granted, or make me feel unsafe.

He remembers me, laughs with me, and looks at me. He listens to me, protects me, and sees me. I can feel his eyes on me over the breakfast table, and my heart pumps so hard when I hear him pull in the driveway after work.

I have to stop this. It canā€™t happen.

My sister once told me there are no good men, and if you find one, heā€™s probably unavailable.

Only Pike Lawson isnā€™t the unavailable one.

I am.

PIKE

I took her in, because I thought I was helping.

Sheā€™d cook a few meals and clean up a little. It was an easy arrangement.

As the days go by, though, itā€™s becoming anything but easy. I have to stop my mind from drifting to her and stop holding my breath every time I bump into her in the house. I canā€™t touch her, and I shouldnā€™t want to.

The more I find my path crossing hers, though, the more sheā€™s becoming a part of me.

But weā€™re not free to give into this. Sheā€™s nineteen, and Iā€™m thirty-eight.

And her boyfriendā€™s father.

Unfortunately, they both just moved into my house.

ā€œTurns out my dream girl belongs to the one person it would kill me to hurt.ā€

Why you should read it

Birthday Girl is by far my favorite book from Penelope Douglas.

Ā

It’s a slow-burn father’s best friend age gap romance between Jordan and Pike (20 years age gap). However, there is so much more in this book than your typical ‘boyfriend’s dad age gap romance.’

Ā

Jordan’s life was not easy, and this story follows her and her struggles to basically… be happy.

If you’re looking for an age gap romance that not only has steamy scenes, this book is for you.

Super taboo age gap romance (stepfather -stepdaughter ) with big age gap and spice

Iā€™d only wanted one kiss.
One kiss, under the dark of night, in a city where no one knew us.
One kiss fueled by my hormones and alcohol and the blinding grief over losing my mother.
One kiss from the man I told myself was untouchable.
But, it didnā€™t stop at one kiss.
And now we are running full speed down a road with no intention of stopping.
His touch disarms me.
His kiss revives me.
But, our love, could destroy me.

ā€œBecause although I saw him first and told myself at the young age of ten that I was madly in love with this beautiful man, said beautiful man fell in love with someone else. My mother.ā€

Ā

ā€œNo.ā€ I know Iā€™m behaving like a jealous caveman. I donā€™t care. I want her, and I canā€™t have her. So, by that logic, no one fucking can.

Why you should read it

Another taboo romance book from Q. B. Tyler (do you see a pattern here… yes, I’m a Q.B. Tyler fan ).

This one is as taboo as a story can get.

Ā

Her mother died not a long time ago, but they can’t stop feeling attracted to each other… Like WHAT? Are you serious??

Ā

And to make matters worse, he is her principal in her high school, and the age gap difference is 23 years…

It doesn’t get more taboo than this.

Taboo age gap spicy romance. She is studying to be a nun

‘m not a good man, and I’ve never pretended to be. I don’t believe in goodness or God or any happy ending that isn’t paid for in advance. In fact, I’ve got my own personal holy trinity: in the name of money, sex, and Macallan 18, amen.

So when the gorgeous, brilliant Zenny Iverson asks me to teach her about sex, I want to say yes, I really do. Unfortunately, there are several reasons to say noā€”reasons that even a very bad man like myself can’t ignore.

1. She’s my best friend’s little sister.
2. She’s too young for me. Like way too young.
3. She’s a nun. Or about to be anyway.

But I want her. I want her even with my best friend and God in the way, I want to teach her and touch her and love her, and I know that makes me something much worse than a very bad man.

It makes me a sinner.

ā€œI know how to make sin feel like heaven.ā€

ā€œReasons why I should tell Zenny I love her right now: 1. I love her. 2. She needs to know. 3. She likes the honest guy thing. 4. An old nun told me to. Reasons why I should wait to tell her: 1. Sheā€™s bent over a sink.ā€

Why you should read it

“I love all of Sierra Simone’s books. They’re so refreshing, and the steamy scenes are always top-notch.

I like that, as in ‘Priest,‘ the book is written from the male POV. I think that’s something different from the usual female lead POV with the occasional male POV chapter thrown in there.

Getting to the point, this is basically a story about a sinner and a nun with a 15-year age gap difference.

‘I know how to make sin feel like heaven.’

We definitely need more male POV books out there, and this is my formal petition for authors to write more books like this one .

Super spicy big age gap taboo romance. She is his son ex girlfriend

For years, he was a part of my life. I watched him rush to the hospital countless times, his beautiful surgeon hands racing to save lives.

After all this time, I canā€™t escape the truth.

I want Dr. Lowe.

Lust chokes each moment weā€™re together. He promises to fulfill my fantasiesā€”every dirty, naughty desire we can dream up.

Only, I canā€™t have him.

Heā€™s confident. Experienced. Seductive.

And heā€™s my ex-boyfriendā€™s father.

“My boyfriendā€™s dad wasnā€™t just attractiveā€”he was fucking hot.”

Ā

“He was twenty years older than I was. My boyfriendā€™sā€”ex-boyfriendā€™sā€”father. What was wrong with me?”

Why you should read it

A 20-year age gap romance book between a doctor who happens to be the father of the heroine’s ex-boyfriend.

Ā

It has everything you look for in an age gap romance book: dangerous situations where the protagonists are about to get caught, steamy scenes, and side characters shocked by the relationship. A classic.

Big age gap/ reverse age gap taboo romance. He is the son of her best friend. Very spicy

Nothing says happy birthday like catching your husband in a compromising position with his boss.
His male boss.
Why, hello, midlife crisis. Iā€™m starting over, but this time Iā€™m doing it right. Or at least Iā€™m doing what I want.

Taking the day off from work to hang out poolside? Yup. Do I leave the swimsuit in my house? Sure.

Does my very hot, twenty-something pool boy happen to catch me naked? Oh, yeah, he does. And he likes what he seesā€¦ a lot.

My best friend keeps telling me to have a fling and get back out there. But Iā€™m not so sure she meant for me to do it with her son.

ā€œShe was olderā€”not to mention marriedā€”and my momā€™s best friend. Pursuing her would be stupid.ā€

ā€œGet these off,ā€ I demanded. ā€œYes, maā€™am.ā€

Why you should read it

This is the second book in the Nashville Neighborhood series, featuring a badass woman in her 40s who has just divorced her cheating husband. She is determined to live her life to the fullest.

Ā

But meeting the pool boy (who happens to be her best friend’s son and 20 years younger) wasn’t at all in her plans.

This book is similar to ‘The Doctor,’ but with the roles reversed. Good spicy scenes and angst. Totally worth the read.

He is his father best friend. Second chance taboo age gap romance

Three years ago, Jacob Price walked away.
After a whirlwind steamy affair, my father’s best friend broke my heart.
He told me things were too complicated. Messy. Wrong.
That we could never be together.
I knew he loved me but the fear of ruining our family was too great.
With too much at stake, he sacrificed our hearts and ended it.

Now, he’s back and he still wants me.
He still loves me.

But now, I’m engaged to another man.

ā€œYou broke it off with her. So, youā€™re subscribing to the belief now that if you canā€™t have her, nobody can?ā€

Ā

ā€œYou think I give a fuck? You could be married with three kids, and youā€™d still belong to me”

Why you should read it

Another QB Tyler taboo romance book.

This one is a second chance father’s best friend (not quite, he is friends with both her parents), and it features a very possessive male character.

Ā

After being apart for 3 years, Jacob Price comes back to claim what is ‘legitimately his.’ But now Whitney is engaged to another man, so things get complicated.

Ā

This one was toxic AF, so if you love red flags with huge age gaps (20 years), “What was meant to be””Ā  needs to be on your TBR list.

Very spicy with soft BDSM forbidden age gap romance ( student teacher )

They call me a slut.
Maybe I am.
Sometimes I do things I despise.
Sometimes men take without asking.

But I have a musical gift, only a year left of high school, and a plan.
With one obstacle.

Emeric Marceaux doesnā€™t just take.
He seizes my will power and bangs it like a dark note.
When he commands me to play, I want to give him everything.
I kneel for his punishments, tremble for his touch, and risk it all for our stolen moments.

Heā€™s my obsession, my master, my music.
And my teacher.

ā€œā€œI will not have your perversions darkening the corners of my school. If your misconduct at Shreveport is repeated here, the deal is off.ā€ā€

ā€œThis is just an examination, for your own good. Nothing inappropriate.ā€ Itā€™s illegal as fuck, but I canā€™t stop myself.”

Why you should read it

Pam Godwin delivers again. Her male protagonists are just…Ā

This man… he knows that what he is doing is totally illegal (he is her piano teacher), but he doesn’t really care. Their student-teacher relationship is so wrong on SO MANY LEVELS, and I’m here for it.

ā€œThis is just an examination, for your own good. Nothing inappropriate.ā€ Itā€™s illegal as fuck, but I canā€™t stop myself.”

Be aware, this is a slightly dark read!! (Check out trigger warnings! )

Student -teacher forbidden age gap romance with virgin heroine

Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well-respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption.

When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide.

An intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love, and redemption,Ā Gabrielā€™s InfernoĀ is a captivating and wildly passionate tale of one manā€™s escape from his own personal hell as he tries to earn the impossibleā€”forgiveness and love.

ā€œLook at me. Look into my eyes.” His eyes fixed on hers as they fluttered open.
“I’ll give you anything. My body, my soul, Take them. Take everything.ā€

Why you should read it

Gabriel’s Inferno is an old-school age gap student-teacher romance book. Despite this, it turned out very well and is somewhat a classic as of right now.

Ā

Gabriel is Julia’s professor in a Dante seminar, and he is, of course, an alpha possessive male but with a sweet side.

Ā

This is a romantic and slow-burn romance, so don’t expect spice right at the beginning.

I think this is definitely a must-read, considering it was written by a man, and in the romance book community, it is very rare.

Forbidden reverse age gap student teacher romance with spice

We don’t get to choose who we fall in love with.
My parents are testament to that.
I fell for my teacherā€¦I know you’re shocked, arenā€™t you?
Not really.
So what if I’m seven years younger than her.
I want her.
This heat between us canā€™t be ignored.

ā€œNow we share a secret, me and the little mouse.
Whether she likes it or not.ā€

Sheā€™s the poster girl for all things virtuous
and Iā€™m the school genius who canā€™t resist the illicit pull
to the woman who is meant for me.
Thereā€™s a saying ā€˜you canā€™t always have what you seeā€™
Itā€™s a rule Iā€™ve never believed in.

Iā€™m Lachlan Fierro, I do what I want because I can.
Iā€™m not a bad guy, ask anyone.
But I believe rules are for other people.

The momentĀ I see herĀ I know sheā€™ll be mine.
Iā€™ll break the rule book for her.
Delaney isnā€™t to blame.
My principled girl tries to do the right thingā€¦my power of persuasion is just stronger than her willpower.

Weā€™re taboo and forbidden.Ā Unthinkable.Ā And Perfect.

This secret we have between us becomes intoxicating.
But thereā€™s always someone ā€¦ something lurking to whisper our secrets.

Manhattan Secretis a very good student-teacher age gap romance book where she is the teacher (reverse age gap).

Ā

I really enjoyed this one. It has all the elements I look for in a student-teacher romance but with roles reversed, very similar toLessons in Corruption but with a slightly different beginning.

Single dad age gap mild spice romance

My future is a big ā€˜what ifā€™ at the moment and Iā€™m fine with that.
For the most part.
When Thayer Holmes moves in next door, the grumpy landscaper both fascinates and amuses me.
When he asks me to nanny his kid, itā€™s a great way to make some extra money.
Itā€™s impossible not to fall in love with Thayer and his adorable son.
Thereā€™s a big problem though.
Iā€™m eighteen. Heā€™s thirty-one.
Falling for someone almost fifteen years older than me wasnā€™t part of my plans, but sometimes things happen when you least expect them.

ā€œYouā€™re my girl,ā€ he says it so surely, like itā€™s a fact already known, ā€œand no one talks about my girl like that.ā€

Why you should read it

The Confidence of Wildflowers is from the same author as Sweet Dandelion (also in this list, a counsellor-student age gap romance).

Ā

This one is a sweet single-dad age gap romance book with some spicy scenes.

But be aware there are some HEAVY TW (trigger warnings) for this book.

I really like Micalea Smeltzer’s writing, and the forbidden and taboo elements she introduces in her books are on point.

Totally recommended if you want an emotional rollercoaster.

Final thoughts

This was A LOT.
